In this section of the reading, Jacob ended up finishing the bikes that the promised Bella he would work. The two of them are both kind of sad that their time together could end, so they decide to have study sessions with each other. Both Bella and Jacob are excited about this and they are both beginning to have feelings for each other. Also in this section, Bella decides to go and drive to the Cullen's old house. She does this to see if the voice that had come to her before would come again if she did something that Edward didn't think was right. But sadly it didn't and Bella had to leave quickly because of the pain and memories the house brought to her. She also became reunited with some of her old friends and is starting life up again. Only, she is starting from scratch, like when she first came to Forks. I do love that Bella is waking up from her zone of nothingness, but I am not a fan of Jacob and Bella and there growing relationship. Yes, they are cute, but Bella and Edward are meant to be. Its a good thing that she is starting something with Jacob in many ways though. The loving feeling she is getting from him is helping her to get back on her feet and move along with her life. Even if its a hard thing to do, she has to do it at sometime.

In the reading this section, Bella is feeling very rebellious. The last thing Edward had said to her when he left was to be careful and don't hurt yourself. She had always kept her promises until this one. She decided, since she was angry, that she would buy two motorcycles to get back at both Edward and her father, Charlie. After she finds two broken down motorcycles, Bella decides that she is going to need a lot of secret help in order to get these two bikes up and running again. So Bella decides to go to Jacob for this help. Once Bella arrives, Jacob is happy to help and is just happy that Bella would stop by and think of Jacob. This visit seems to spark some feelings between the two and Bella actually seems to be enjoying herself when she is with him. And after she left, she feel like she cant wait to be with him again. I don't like the fact that Jacob and Bella are starting to like each other. I think that Bella should always and forever be with Edward. I also think that her rebellious stage is not going to last until the bikes are ready for her to ride them. I think that she will come to her senses and realize that she is making a stupid decision.

Bella has been going through her life for the past couple of months in a haze. Ever since Edward had ended things with her, she has been putting off the pain by doing nothing at all. Everyone around her is noticing and finally her dad, Charlie, steps in and tells Bella that she needs to move on with her life and start to live again. So, Bella decides to go out with her friend Jess to get her mind on something and to get her dad off of her case. This outing made Bella wake up and realize what is going on in her life. While they were in Port Angles, Bella saw four men in a bar that reminded her of the night almost a year earlier when Edward had saved her. She was courious about these men so she when closer to them to see if she knew them. While walking closer, she heard Edwards voice in head reminding her that she had promised to stay out of trouble for him. Hearing his voice made Bella come to her sences and awaken. His voice reminded her that he did still care, which caused her to care. I do not know if it was really Bella's mind that was making up Edwards voice and words or, if Edward was listening to Jess's thoughts about Bella and he came to stop her, but either way, it was a major reminder that he is still there and still cares deeply for Bella Swan.

This section begins with Bella lying on the forest floor. She is not remembering anything or anyone other then Edward. Finally after a long search, Sam, one of Charlies friends, found Bella lost and confused in the woods. Once she is brought home, there is nothing she can do. She can barley walk. Later, she finds that the Indian reservations were causing fires in celebration of the Cullens relocation. This breaks her heart and she storms to her room. Once there, she finds that anything ever having to do with Edward is missing. He had taken everything and made it seem like he never existed. Just like he had said. New Moon has been a book full of ups and downs for me at this point, but I still don't see why Edward is making this life long decision. I realize that he is just trying to protect her from danger, and from getting hurt, but by leaving her, he is putting both her and himself in pain. I think that Edward should have stayed behind while his family moved on to a new city because, he would eventually meet up with the Cullens again, they are going to live forever so they really aren't going anywhere. I am still on the edge about Edwards choices, but I have a feeling that is not the last we see of Edward and the rest of the Cullens.

In the book, New Moon, after Bella had a serious injury at her birthday party at the Cullen's house, she cause a whole lot of trouble. The smell of her blood made Jasper go crazy and he ended up leaving with Alice. Jasper's reaction to the smell of human blood and his departure from the Cullen house lead to the break up of Bella and Edward. The Cullen family was off to go and visit with another family of vampires that also doesn't drink human blood. I didn't like the fact that the two broke up. I think that if the Cullen family has been able to get past the smell of Bella's blood and save her life once, they should be able to do it again. I also think that Edward shouldn't have broken up with her because of something Jasper did. Even though they are part of the same family, if Jasper is the one with the problem, he should be the only one that should have to go and fix it. Also, the Cullen family had to leave because of Carlisle's good looks. His young feature do not allow him to pass for the age that everyone thought he was. The family needed to start somewhere new again so that they could pass again as the young age that their faces show. This would lead to a long distance relationship between Bella and Edward, but they should work through it. That is what people or in this case vampires do when they are in love. They work it out. All in all, I didn't like the contents of this section but I still love the book.

I read the first chapter out of the novel, New Moon. In this chapter, Bella turns 18 and the Cullen family throw her a birthday party. After the long day of school, Bella and Edward go back to Bellas house to watch Romeo and Juliete. During the movie, Edward tells Bella that if anything every were to happen to her or she were to die, he would have to kill himself because he couldn't live without her in his life. When I read that, I didn't understand why Edward wouldn't just turn Bella into a vampire right then and there. If he were to turn her into a vampire, she would be able to spend forever with him and there would be no reason for the suicidal thoughts. Also, if he were to turn Bella into a vampire, she would be happy and he would be giving her all that she wanted. One thing that also bugged me about the chapter is how angery Bella was throughout the whole chapter. I understand why she is upset that she is older then Edward adn is just going to keep getting older then him but Alice and him were being nothing but nice to her and trying to give her a good birthday. And Bella was being very rude and not liking any of the attention. Other then that i thought that this chapter was very good. I also loved getting back into read the Twilight series again.

In the movie, Remember the Titans, the whole team overcomes many obstacles. The movie is about a Virginia high school football team and their journey though the football season as a team. This movie is based on a real story, in the time where African American students where being to go to all white schools for the first time. The Titans are a football team of kids of both white and black races. At the beginning, all the team members are brought to a camp, the white players wanted no part in their African American team mates and their African American coach. But after working hard with each other and getting to know each other, race no longer became an issue. After the camp, school started up. The school was being integrated and many of the students and parents were very upset. The only accepting white people in the school were the ones who played football with the black students. The Titans football team was looked down upon and many other teams believed that they stood no chance because they had African Americans on there team. Instead of losing every game, the Titans flew past all expectations and in the end won the championship. Days before the championship game, the team caption, Gary, got into a car accident and ended up paralyzed from the waist down. His new best friend, who was a black man, was the only person he wanted to see at the time of his accident. This shows that, Gary had overcome racism and liked this black man because of who he was and not by what he looked like. In many ways, the Titans overcame many odds and in the end were victorious.

Barbara Rademacher, a teacher at a community college in Rogers, Arkansas, is overcoming her weight problem. In the past three month, Rademacher has lost six pounds and has never felt better. She says she had the "best day I can imagine" about 2 weeks ago when she was asked by two seperate coworkers if she had lost some weight and that she looked great. Rademacher said, "I have this theory that not working out caused my body to start falling apart,". This fact made her realize that she needed to start doing something about her weight. So she decided to go to the gym. Three times a week, Rademacher goes to the gym and works on her rutine. This rutine consists on 15 minutes of the excercise bike fallowed by 20 to 30 sit ups and to finish it off she will lift weights with her legs and ocassionaly lift free weights to work on her arms. To keep up with the rutine of excercises, she also takes her dog for a nice three mile walk every other day. Her goal for the next month or two is to lose another 5 pounds and continue to work out and "not have jiggle in places where I have jiggle," she says.

Michelle and Barack Obama are a loving couple living in the public eye. The First Couple is continuing to show their love for one another even in the new environment and with all of the United States paying close attention to their love life. The Obama couple have been wed sense the year 1992 and have held and showed their love continuously throughout the years. But, when you have a country watching your every move, spontaneous date nights are almost impossible to plan. The couple are having to get creative with their date nights and think of alternative things to do rather then go into public. Many people agree that the couple is going to have to have the staff get them special food and go on dates inside of the White House in order to keep their love life their own. Although the dating is though for the Obamas, they are a strong couple who love each other very much and will not give up essential rituals that make them stronger. These rituals will just have to be reinvented to fit in with their lives today. Obviously, this couple is having one issue that only they can relate to at the moment, but they are having similar problems to the rest of the dating community. Coming up with free time that both the lovers can enjoy and and share is one major problem that a majority of the dating community is dealing with.

Australia was discovered and colonized by the Europeans. In 1606 European mariners sailed into unknown waters and and they came across Terra Australis Incognita, which means unknown southern land. The years fallowing this discovered were full of discovery. About 54 European ships were sent to Australia between 1606 and 1770. Many of the 54 ships where Dutch merchant ships for the Dutch East Indies Company, and mainly sail around the Northern, Southern and Western parts of Australia, which was known as New Holland. Years after in 1770, the Eastern coast was explored and taken over by a Englishman named Lieutenant James Cook. King George III of England claimed the Eastern coast, with the help of Cook, and August 22, 1770. This take over started at Possession Island, and was renamed New South Wales. The findings by the English men were later used in the making of a map of the coast of Australia by Flinders in 1814. This Colonization processes is very similar to other colonization processes. It started with one crew running into undiscovered land and ended in a new establishment.

The Korean War was a war lasting from 1950 to 1953. The war was fought between North and South Korea with many other countries who were involved in aiding one of the Korea's. The war started with the invasion on South Korea from North Korean communists on June 25, 1950. About two days later, President Truman commanded that United States soldiers go and assist South Korea. Throughout the year of 1950, the UN and China communists had become involved in the conflict and many cities is South Korea had been captured and recaptured. Throughout the next proceeding years of the war, China had many of its men in North Korea, which on Oct. 26, 1958, were all orded to get out of North Korea. This war was like many other wars because of all the involvement from other countries. Most of the time, the assistance can and will lead to a bigger and more sevier war, and is unneeded. But, in some cases the need for alliances plays a major role on how a war will be fought, and in the end can lead to the under dogs of the war to be the campions. All together, most of the wars fought throughout the world are fought by more than two countries and are assisted by many others.

One of the major problems in our world today is energy. People all over are trying to find alternative ways of getting energy. Atlantic City, New Jersey, has found that alternative. Although it is a city which uses a great deal of electricity, they are realizing that the need for alternative sources are necessary. Atlantic City's convention center is the first of the city to try using solar energy. The 13,321 photovoltaic panels produce about of 26 percent of the convention center's energy. It is also said that within the 20 year contract, the convention center will save about 4.4 million dollars on the electricity. This new system will avoid the release of 2,349 tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere which is equivalent to removing 390 cars for the roads per year. Although this center was able to afford the cost of the panels, they are still way to expensive for massive production, but soon solar power will be used in house holds around the world. The idea of solar powering is a wonderful idea that can save the planet, help stop global warming and make the earth a better place to live in.

One very popular religious holiday is Christmas. This holiday is celebrated on December 25, which is the birthday of Jesus Christ. During the festive time of year, many people go to church services in honor of Christ. Also many decorations are set up and many gifts are bought. December 25 is also know as winter solstice and no one is 100 percent sure that December 25 is the actual date that Jesus Christ was born. Today, most houses that celebrate Christmas have a big Christmas tree which they out there presents under. The Christmas tree is a Christmas tradition of putting up an evergreen tree in ones house in honor of winter solstice. Another tradition on Christmas is Santa Clause. Sanata Clause is a mythical human that, on December 24, Christmas Eve, comes to all the childrens houses and brings them the presents that they wanted. Even though Santa is a myth, the parent will buy extra presants and buy what the children asked Santa for, and out those present under the tree late on Christmas Eve so the children will wake up and believe that in fact, Santa had come to their house.

Indian cuisine is one of the major things that separates Idian and makes it a unique place. Mainly, the meals of India are vegitarian, but there are a few meals that are cooked with chicken, goat, fish and lamb. The dishes made in India today are a mix between many cultures such as Persian, Mongols and Europe. Every day in the Indian culure, each meal served is a sir down meal. Also each meal consists of two are three main courses such as chutneys adn pickles, carbohydrate staples, like rice and bread and then it is followed with some kind of dessert. Food, in India does not only stand for the means of eating but it also is thought of as a social gatherer adn allows many families to get together with one another. Throughout India, the food is divided into for sections: North, Shouth, East and Western cuisine. The split is due to a number of reasons such as region and religion. Although the four sections of Indian cuisine are all different, they all have a few similarities. In all four of the sections, many of the spices used to make the flavors pop on dishes are used by all four areas. This division is a lot like the United States in the sence taht in the South are very spicey and in the coast states, a lot of fish is eaten and in the North how a lot of beef is eaten.

"Slumdog Millionaire" is a new movie released in America on Sunday February 19. Although this movie was not made in Bollywood, it is a tribute to Bollywood. This movie is nothing like any of the 1,000 annual musicals that are produced in Blollywood, but the bright colors and fairy-tale ending of "Slumdog Millionaire" is what makes people believe that this film is in fact a Bollywood production. Even though this movie was filmed in India also does not mean it is from Bollywood. The story line of the "Slumdog" is an explanation of India. It explains that there is a lot of less fortunate people living in that area of the world, and many say that the title of "Slumdog" is what attracts them to this movie. The movie makes them feel better about themselves. Mainly, in a Bollywood film, there is a lot of group dance numbers and songs that are sung throughout the performance, like a musical, and this technique is taking by many American producers and use in the end of movie to make it more enjoyable. Many American producers are trying to get Bollywood film to cross over seas and someday reach American, although the crowd might be limited to the romantics.

The article I read had to do with hepatitis B. In the article, the death poll of people in India who have hepatitis B has reached 38. The change in the death poll has come from the outburst of the disease that is being spread. In the past two weeks there has been 125 cases of this disease. Hepatitis B is spread through contact with bodily fluids. The death poll has reached this high and doctors are now saying that the drug to cure someone with this disease will be available for free starting Monday. Another reason so many have died is because some doctors have purposely been allowing there patients to suffer. Authorities say that there was an axis amount of face drugs and syringes that were being used on multiple people which is spread the hepatitis B. The highly contagious liver disease can be either a short term illness or it can be a long term chronic illness leading to long term health problem and occasionally death.

One of the many religions in our society today is Judaism. In the Jewish society, Hanukkah, also known as Festival of Lights, is celebrated. This celebration lasts for eight days and starts on the 25th days of Kislev. The name Hanukkah means "to dedicate". Hanukkah is the celebration of when the Jews regained control of Jerusalem and rededicated the Temple. This eight day holiday has many rituals. One of these rituals is that every night at sundown, one candle will be lit to represent each night of Hanukkah. After the lighting of the candles, a hymn Ma'oz Tzur is sung is the candle light. This song was written in Medieval Germany and contains six stanzas. After Ma'oz Tzur, many other song and prayers may be sung and a gift exchange if necessary. Like many other religions and cultures, Judaism celebrates important events that have happened in the religion. In Christianity, the birth of Jesus Christ is celebrated by the celebration of Christmas. In the Muslim community, the holiday of Eid ul-Fitrhe celebrates the end of Ramadan, which is the month-long fast.

In the book The Color Purple by Alice Walker is a novel dealing with many gender related issues. In the novel, Celie, the main character is abused as a child by her father. This behavior at the beginning of the book tells the reader that the status of the women in the novel is much less then that of a man. Along with Celie's father abusing her, after she is married off, her husband beats and abuses her as well. Another abusive relationship in the novel is the marriage of Harpo and Sofia. Harpo is Celie's husband's son who, after fallowing his father, beats his wife. These relationships throughout the novel intensify and soon end because of the lack of respect the men have for the women. In today's society, this kind of abusive relationship would not be tolerated. Women today are treated with a lot more respect and have more dignity.

I found this article on Wikipedia. The title is "Culture of China". The culture of China is a very spiritual. A major part about Chinese culture is based on the fact that a spiritual world exists. Many questions about the spirituality of Chinese culture have been answered by methods of dicination. Also, folklores have helped fill gaps and answer question that have not yet been anwered. In Chinese culture, the most famous holy figures are Guan Yin, Jade Emperor and Buddha. Another part in Chinese culture is story telling. These stories consist of both good and evil, and a majority of the stories have been made into traditional chinese holidays. The Chinese culture and other cultures differs in the sence that cultures do not value the same people, but all cultures believe in someone. Also many cultures have ancient stories and myths that have been passed on from generation to generation.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Culture_of_China#Values

I found my article at CNN.com. The title of the article is "Research shows Hispanic women get breast cancer treatment late". This article is about a Hispanic women named Maria Rubeo, and her struggle against breast cancer. Rubeo first went to the doctor for the lump that she found on her breast, but when the doctor told her the lump was fine, Rubeo thought nothing of it. She had no health insurance at the time and was struggling with the language barriers that she had to overcome. A year passed and she went back to a different doctor for a check up who later confirmed that the lump on her breast was in fact cancerous. The reason for her not recieveing proper care when she needed it was beacause she didn't have enough time. Rubeo along with other Hispanics have trouble getting help for there health is because of a language barrier, long workdays, and keeping up a houshold and a family. Although many Hispnic women are getting breast cancer, so are many other American citizens and although they are taking care of a family, and working a full day, they still find time for a check up. I believe that the hospitals should have a few Spanish translators or even doctors to help the Hispanic recive the proper health care they need. http://www.cnn.com/2009/HEALTH/02/03/minorities.breast.cancer/index.html

I found this article at CNN.com. The title of the article is "Alaska volcano 'more energetic,' scientists say". This article is about an Alaskan volcano named Mount Redoubt that is expected to erupt very soon. In recent days, The Alaska Volcano Observatory said that the "volcanic tremor" has increased in "amplitude.". This increase in activity helps the scientist predict the eruption based on other times that the volcano has erupted. A lot of the time, scientists are able to predicted when a volcano is going to erupt based on previous behaiviors and eruptions. In May of 1980, Mount St. Helens erupted. Scientist use the information from the May eruption to predict when Mount St. Helens is due for another blow. This prediction is made by using the same tecniques as scientists used to find the expected eruption of Mount Redoubt. http://www.cnn.com/2009/TECH/science/01/30/alaska.volcano/index.html
